Here it goes… my first foray into the blogosphere. I have to admit, I feel very late in the game. Everyone I know and admire has been in the pool long enough to get those wrinkly raisin fingers. The time has come to jump in.
I’ve often equated blogging to ‘getting naked in public.’ Not in the hypothetical way that your public speaking instructors always reference when they discuss your fear of talking to an audience. But literally, standing naked on the sidewalk as the world goes by – pointing and laughing. Blogging to me is giving complete strangers access to your thoughts. Now that I think about it, it’s almost scarier than getting naked in public.
But this month, I left my job and secure paycheck to start Red Sky Public Relations in Boise with three partners. So I’m thinking, starting your first company has got to be a bit more nerve-wracking than blogging! And now… here I am.
What will this blog be about? Musings, rants and opinions on Public Relations… perhaps a clearinghouse for info on the state of PR and media in the Gem State… or even to spotlight some of my favorite strategies and tactics being used by the great communication minds out there.
Mine won’t be the only voice contributing. Look for the musings of my other partners – a humor writer and a longtime communication expert among them – to appear over time.
So here’s to the first few laps in the pool.
- Jess
Greetings and welcome to the fray
I look forward to your “musings.”
